Mrs. Tafolla
My name is Leann M. Tafolla. I teach English Language Arts and Reading for the 8th grade Aggie team and I am a co-sponsor for the GMS Cheerleaders. My personal interests include music, ministry, and of course, my family. As an educator, I feel I am very well rounded as I first earned my Associates in Education and Training and later earned a Bachelors in Early Childhood – 8th grade Education. I am a certified Generalist which I believe is a strength as I had to master all 4 core subject areas. Before earning my bachelors, I worked as an English tutor for juniors and seniors at Harlingen High School for 2 years. I also worked as an Inclusion Paraprofessional (6th-8th grade) and as a Kinder Para for 3 years.
I believe it is essential to build community with in a classroom in order to have successful students. I allow students to participate and sign up for classroom roles on a daily basis so they learn a sense of responsibility and contribution. Once direct instruction is given, students are usually given time to collaborate to reinforce the daily objective. I hope that through differentiation, direct and indirect instruction, and collaboration students will be successful in the classroom. Sincerely, Mrs. L. Tafolla |
